YAMOrchestra

YAMOrchestra is the musical accompaniment to our student-written, directed, constructed, choreographed, and composed fall theatre production at ETHS. Each January, Mr. Bufis and Ms. Zegree interview candidates for the YAMOrchestra student governing board and selects the student leaders for this production. The YAMOrchestra then meets with Mr. Bufis and Ms. Zegree weekly to learn how to use MuseScore and Noteflight music composition software and learn the basics of orchestration. In May, the YAMOrchestra student governing board holds open auditions for all current band and orchestra members, as well as incoming freshmen, for positions in the fall YAMOrchestra. Once the orchestra is set, the student governing board begins weekly meetings on Tuesday mornings throughout the summer to script, compose, choreograph, design, and build the fall production in preparation for rehearsals. These rehearsals begin during the week before school and conclude with the opening production in mid September. YAMO runs for seven shows across three weekends in September/October and is consistently presented to a sold-out crowd. For more information on YAMO, visit the ETHS Theatre website or see Mr. Bufis, , Ms. Zegree, Mr. Herbert, or Mr. Carney.
